Read full description of the books:Four brothers, four very different paths... One heir With three older brothers, Ludovic expects no inheritance, no sympathy and no surprises. He has taken to a life of secret smuggling as his only source of income. Meanwhile the Sumerford home is one of brooding unease. Each of the four brothers has his own dark agenda and protects his secrets. Yet amid the conflict, Ludovic finds love, unexpected and passionate. Alysson does not at first appear to be his match, but he is determined to find a way to keep her. Yet these are dark years in England's history and with the first of the Tudor dynasty on the throne, the fledgling rule is under threat from other claimants to the crown. One of the Sumerford brothers supports the 'pretender' Perkin Warbeck and gradually draws Ludovic into the conspiracy. Treason, if discovered, means certain death but when escaping from one danger, the twists of mystery and subterfuge can lead to others. Following arrest, imprisonment and torture in the Tower, Ludovic seems likely to lose his very minor fortune, his barely awakening romance, and possibly his worthless life. But once again, not everything is as predictable as it would seem.
Read information about the authorI am a writer of Historical fiction and Fantasy - sometimes combining the two. I have published six novels, with two more following shortly.
I am a passionate researcher of English medieval history, and am a member of the Richard III Society.
I live in a tiny rural cottage with a huge garden, surrounded by parrots and wallabies - having moved to Australia 19 years ago, and have been writing ever since.
I was born in Gloucestershire, England. I grew up surrounded by books and artwork, as my father was an Artist and Playwright, my older sister a Young author, first published at 16 and Mrs Elizabeth Gaskell was a great, great, great aunt. So writing was in my genes.
I worked in many literary capacities and published numerous short stories and articles, but motherhood took precedence. Having three young girls, two of whom were twins, within three years, writing had to take a back step. I now live in a tiny rural cottage with a huge garden, surrounded by parrots and wallabies - having moved to Australia 19 years ago, and have been writing full time ever since.
My passion is for late English medieval history and this forms the background for my historical fiction. Although all my books have romantic undertones, I would not class them as romances, there is so much more to them.
